How have past declutters gone?
You're ready to go tiny.
You own little, you're flexible about space, and you'd trade square footage for freedom. Next: price it honestly and find a legal place to put it.
Go small, not tiny.
A 400–800 sq ft cottage, ADU or small house will make you happier than a 200 sq ft trailer. You get most of the savings without the ladder.
Start with minimalism.
Before you change houses, change how much you own. Clear one room, close the storage unit, and see how it feels. The house can come later.
What the three results mean
Go tiny means a tiny house on wheels or under 400 sq ft is a realistic fit. Go small means a cottage, ADU or small house will likely suit you better. Start with minimalism means the house isn't the first problem; the stuff is. None of these is a grade. Plenty of people end up in a 600 sq ft cottage and are happier there than they would be in 200. In Tampa Bay, "go small" often means a backyard unit; see Tampa Bay ADU rules.
