Why this matters when you downsize
The storage unit is the most common way a downsizing plan fails quietly: you move into less space, keep paying for the old space, and in a couple of years the rent has passed what the stuff is worth. If the break-even month has already passed, the cheapest move is usually to sell or donate and close the unit this month.
Exceptions are real: a short gap between homes, a family piece you'll actually use, tools for a build. Put a date on it. Then use the downsizing planner to clear it.
In Florida, anything that minds humidity (wood furniture, paper, electronics) needs the climate-controlled rate, so use that preset. Clearing a unit in Tampa or St. Petersburg? Both cities offer bulky-item pickup for what won't sell; details are in how to downsize your home.
