About Little House Studios
Free, sourced guides for people who want a smaller, better home.

Little House Studios is a free guide to living small, building small and minimalist living. We cover the questions people actually get stuck on: what a tiny house really costs, how to pay for it, where you can legally put one, how to downsize without regret, and how to make a small space comfortable.
We pay extra attention to Florida and Tampa Bay, where the rules change from one city line to the next. Start with are tiny homes legal in Florida and ADU rules for Tampa, St. Pete and Clearwater.
We don't sell tiny houses or take money from builders to rank them. We read the codes, open the listings and do the math, then write it up in plain English with the sources attached.
Who edits this site

Little House Studios is edited by Brian Zmich, who has built and developed small homes and properties. He decides what goes on the site, and what doesn’t.
How we work
- Every number has a source. Prices, laws, code sections and averages link to the page we read, with the month we checked. If we can't verify something, we leave it out or tell you to call.
- No fake testing. When we name products, we're comparing published specs and prices, and we say so.
- Calculators are private. They run in your browser. Nothing you type is stored or sent.
- How we make money: display ads from Google AdSense on guide pages, and affiliate links if and when we join programs. Neither changes what we recommend. Details on the disclosures page.
